We have had a fabulous week at Desmond House exploring the local area .The hosts and house have been excellent .So many little touches which have made us feel welcome and comfortable . Would love to come back.

A lovely cottage, beautifully clean and well equipped. WiFi works very well. It is a short walk to amenities in the village but it’s quite steep walking back. We had a great time helped by good weather. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Had a fantastic week in Desmond House, the owners were extremely helpful with any questions/queries we had. The house was equipped with everything we needed for a family of five. Having log fires in both rooms made it very cosy in the evenings when the family wanted to do different things. Great walk opposite the house threw the woods and a lovely hike to low and high force waterfalls if you want a day of walking. Enjoyed having breakfast outside in the little sun trap listening to the local wildlife. Would highly recommend.

We had a great week at Desmond House, even though the weather was not ideal. The house is spacious, comfortable & well equipped, with everything we needed for our stay. There is a lovely patio which is a perfect sun trap but unfortunately the weather meant there was only one day when we could use this! Middleton in Teesdale has a well stocked Co-op store, a lovely independent butcher, several small cafes & a couple of pubs which serve food. Other options are available in nearby villages. If you like walking, it’s a great location with various footpaths starting close to the house. We hope to return to this cottage next year, which says it all.

A well equipped and appointed cottage just outside Middleton. There were only two of us but it would suit a small family – there were plenty of cutlery, crockery and cookware. All the fittings seemed pretty new and everything worked well (with the exception of the cooker hood). Netflix on the TV was a bonus in the evenings. Lovely walk through the woods just across the road from the cottage. The contactless arrangements for the key handover and all the covid aware instructions and arrangements were excellent.

Lovely house in a great location. It’s at the end of the village so is quiet but is only a 5 minute walk on well lit pavements into the centre of the village. The house is beautifully presented and was spotlessly clean. We would love to visit again.
